Poultry
Poultry is raised completely free-range, meaning no fences containing them. They have a home coop that they return to each night. We are able to do this by allowing their home to grow with them from two days old on. Poultry are purchased from Sunnyside Hatchery in Beaver Dam, WI. They are certified organic from day 1 of life. They are fed and grazed organically. They are processed by Twin Cities Pack. Poultry on a per pound basis of final weight. We are offer pieces and cuts including half, leg quarters, breast with back portion, and wings. Price varies with market prices. Pork
We will have pork! Finally!! Our certified organic pork will be available July 2021! This seems so far away, but the pigs are growing quickly! They are expected to be about 200-250lbs hanging weight! Please be understanding as this is our first batch of pigs so the size may vary! We will determine the price per pound soon, as we go off our cost of production exactly, we are not positive how much these pigs will eat in addition to their free-range snacks they find! These pigs are more free-range than even Meg would like on the farm, but they get all the grubs, hay, and organic snacks they can find! The pigs will be processed at Solar Meats in Solider Grove, WI. The meat will all be certified organic, even through processing!! We will be offering halves & whole hog purchases, as well as cuts right off the farm! We will have limited amounts of each. You may reserve your quarter, half, or whole hog today. The deposit is non-refundable & will be deducted off of the final weight of the hog at processing. Beef
We are beginning to offer certified organic beef! We currently only have ground beef available but will have cuts available Fall of 2021! This is certified organic ground beef in 1lb or 2lb packages. We may offer bundles of some cuts before than so be sure to watch our Facebook page! As with all our animals here, they are never pushed to grow too fast, and are intensively grazed from May to November, then fed crops we have grown right here in Jefferson County, WI. They are loved and nurtured throughout their entire life and handled daily by us and our kids! We are still working out the kinks of growing certified organic beef so please be patient with us as we learn how to do this the best way possible. The breed of these animals varies slightly as they are from our dairy herd. They are all a Holstein cross, but some are crossed with Jersey or Angus. We have started breeding some of our cows to some more rare breeds such as Wagyu and Fleckvieh. We are also looking for some more unique cattle to add to our beef herd, so be sure to watch on the hillside from some less than ordinary creatures grazing about!
Important Info
Meat sales are first come, first serve on orders placed. Processing is included in poultry prices. Poultry will be picked up from the farm or a scheduled drop off.
Pork is available to reserve with processing dates varying. We currently have pigs available for July 29th 2021, and are taking reservations for pigs starting processing in July 2022 and August 2022.
Prices for animals are on a per pound basis. We pride ourselves in keeping our costs as low as possible to allow for competitive prices of the final product. We welcome guest to visit the farm to see where their food is grown. All our animals are kid-friendly and handled daily. For more information on these products see The Farm page.
